Uplifting

Even when times are tough, it is hard not to giggle along with this little one...

Todd and I chose to go ahead and get all of the baby gear (swing, bouncer, bassinet, etc) down from the attic and set it up so Lia can get used to these items being around before the babies arrive.  We have been trying to teach her to put her baby dolls in them and not crawl into them herself...  not always the easiest task, but she is doing pretty well.

As a pre-baby arrival gift, we got Lia her first cabbage patch doll!  Man, these things smell so good!  We have been using this doll and her other doll as practice with baby type activities.  She LOVES this game.  Cover the babies with a blanket, pat the babies, hug the babies, etc.  So cute.  Maybe if she gets good enough with her dolls, I could just leave her in charge of one of the twins - no problem right??

Reading to the babies
And finally, we've had some new words pop out of Lia's mouth recently!  Woke up one day all of a sudden able to say "eyes" (or "ice" - not sure) and the same day we were driving and saw a bus - out popped the word "bus" - clear as day - pretty darn cute.

Her favorite thing to do at the moment is watch "the wheels on the bus" video on Todd's computer and she will ask for it over and over.  "dada - bus?"  and will sign 'please' - how can you resist that request??
