9 month checkup

Today was Lia's 9 month check up and she did very well.  She was a total show off for the doctor, took TWO steps and was saying "mama" and "dada" all over the place - along with a bunch of other cute sounds indicating that she was very happy to be there.

All is well, healthy and as it should be.  For those that are curious - I asked about how her foot turns in while walking and the doc checked her hips, legs and feet and found nothing wrong.  She said that she probably just figured out a way to increase her surface area and balance when pulling to stand - given that she fixes them when she is standing up is a good sign.  In order for it to be more of a concern, she would have to be continuing to turn her foot after 3 months of full walking by herself.  So, no worries for now!

Nothing can be done for potential car sick stuff at this age...  bummer.

And finally, the stats:

At SIX months: 14 lbs 14oz (28th %) and 25 inches long/tall (24th %)
At NINE months:  17 lbs 6 oz (19th %) and 26.5 inches long/tall (14th %)

I asked if it was an issue that she is shrinking among her peers...  the doctor laughed and said - not a concern at all.  She is growing and that is what they want to see.  She expects that she didn't gain a ton of weight b/c she was so busy crawling/pulling up/etc.  We'll see for her 12 month appt what it ends up being.
