Dallas, "Mama", & STEPS!

We returned yesterday from a fun and eventful trip to Dallas.  We were able to pack so much in to a small portion of time, but our trip still felt relaxing and refreshing.  Well, for the most part....

On our way to Dallas, Lia was acting really fussy and was having trouble falling asleep.  We were trying everything possible to make her happy without taking her out of the car seat (which is what she really wanted).  Water, snacks, fruit squeezer, toys, whatever we could find.  She had FINALLY fallen asleep and about 2 seconds later it was projectile vomit all over Todd's brand new car...  disgusting.

Here was my facebook post that evening:
"You know you are a parent when you find yourself cleaning vomit out of a baby seat on the side of the highway... on your wedding anniversary..."

Oh yes...

When we finally arrived in Dallas we had a great time.  Lia was saying "mama" all over the place  - so cute!!

A REAL backyard tree swing!  Spoiled girl...

Todd though it was hilarious to put blocks up her shirt...  boys....

Lillia was here

Following Great Grandma with her own walker - so funny!!

The "Becky bench" my Grandpa Feekin made when I was little - passing it on!

She had a good time with it too!

Saved by Grammy!

We were able to catch up with both families and see some other friends that were luckily in Dallas at the same time!!  What are the chances??
Kati and Taylor - the flower girls from my wedding - all grown up!
Play time with Riley Cox - Katy & Brian's cutie daughter

Lia and Riley

And a special bonus ~ Lia got to hang out with her Uncle Michael!

Another great development was while we were at the Gates' house for dinner - Lia took her first step!!  This girl has impeccable timing - my parents, me, Todd, and Todd's parents were all there to see her and while there was some debate about whether or not this was the real deal, I think it totally counted!  Plus, she did it two other times later on so I know she CAN even if she didn't do it "for real" at that moment.  Despite our best efforts we have not been able to capture proof on camera yet...  I will keep trying!

Here is our best attempt to get it on video - we got cute clapping and waving, but no walking...

On our return trip home the only thing we were both hoping for is a vomit-free experience.  Well, we made it to Round Rock before she threw up all over the car again...  Lucky for us we didn't give her a ton of food before we left.  So, two thorough cleans of the car and the car seat in the matter of three days.  Joy.  Lucky for us, we opted for leather interior...

Clearly, pre-vomit...  haha
